King County's Construction Recycling and Green Building Program
The King County Solid Waste Division's Green Building program has two goals: First, to assure that job-site material is recycled to the greatest extent possible. And second, to accelerate the adoption of green building practices, technologies, policies and standards in residential and commercial development. To achieve our goals we provide a variety of free resources on green building and construction recycling both through our Web site and hard-copy publications.

Seattle City Light Conservation
This is Seattle City Light's Web site on energy efficiency programs and services for residential and business customers. Of particular interest are the incentive programs under the links Net metering (City Light customers who generate their own electricity from renewable sources of 25 kilowatts or less can connect to the City electrical system and receive billing credits for excess power). Energy Smart Services offers technical assistance and rebates up to 70% for energy conservation retrofits and new construction projects. See also the Building Commissioning Assistance; Seattle City Light will help fund ($5000-$10,000) a commissioning plan, which would commence at the design stage of new construction and conclude with a final commissioning report, as described above.
Seattle Sustainable Building
This very comprehensive site is the City of Seattle's Web resource site for sustainable building. It includes links to several tools the City offers, including a LEEDT project task list, a project services procurement language guide to assist in the planning and contract stages, policy and code information, a resource guide, case studies, and Seattle's CIP Supplements to LEEDT. The Seattle CIP Supplements to LEEDT provide assistance in applying the LEEDT Rating System to City Capital Improvement Projects (CIPs), and integrate this system with local building codes, practices, and City policies. The Sustainable Building Library is searchable via this site as well. The purpose of this library is to provide up-to-date information on sustainable building techniques and materials to designers, builders, project managers and do-it-yourselfers. It includes design strategies, industry standards, best management practices, information on building materials, and more.
Lighting Design Lab
Includes information on tours of the lab, classes/workshops, consultations in their mock-up area, model studies, and library contents. The site also includes a large reference page with links to everything from lighting manufacturers, lighting waste disposal, codes, research, and energy usage.
