What Should You Expect During Construction?
- Construction crew workdays will normally
last from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday
through Saturday. These long days will enable
the contractor to complete the project as
quickly as possible.
- Active construction pits will be opened
sequentially along Fairwood Boulevard for
microtunneling and inserting new pipes. Pits
will probably measure about 15 feet wide
by 25 feet long. Pits will be secured each
night using fencing, steel plates and other
measures to keep you, your kids and your
pets safe.
- Access to driveways along Fairwood
Boulevard might be restricted at certain
points during the day. Access will always
be restored no later than 7 p.m. and can
be provided intermittently during working
hours. You will get at least one week’s notice when access to your driveway will be
restricted.
- Lane closures and temporary traffic
diversions will take place near construction
activities. Directional signs and traffic
flaggers will help direct local traffic around
these obstacles.
- The entrance to 151st Avenue Southeast
may be closed for several weeks (timing to
be determined).
- Construction noise can be expected during
the day.
