Soos Creek Sewer Improvements |
||
King County and Soos Creek Water and Sewer District (external link) agreed in 2002 on a local and regional plan to identify and make sewer system improvements that further protect public health and the environment in south King County. These improvements will provide enough capacity to support planned growth, consistent with the Washington State Growth Management Act (external link). King County's Wastewater Treatment Division is following a phased approach to design and carry out these improvements. The plan calls for expanding the regional conveyance system to meet the growing demand for sewer service in Covington, Maple Valley and Black Diamond. Served by the Soos Creek Water and Sewer District, those areas are within the county’s urban growth boundary. The new regional facilities will provide flexibility to handle population growth in south King County and optimize the use of both county and Soos Creek facilities for the next 50 years. Your comments and ideas are welcomeKing County is committed to being a good neighbor and welcomes your comments. We will work directly with the local sewer districts, local jurisdictions and the community throughout the project to make sure suggestions and concerns are addressed. As we develop alternatives for each phase, we will identify potential community and environmental impacts–and ways to minimize them–early in the design process. This work will continue during environmental review, permitting, construction, and long-term operations and maintenance of the facilities. News about the project
