New Administration Building construction to begin at South PlantThe 45-year-old Administration Building at the South Treatment Plant is being demolished in September 2008 and the new building is expected to be completed in 2009. The new two-story building will be built to LEED Silver standards. LEED is a certification for “green” buildings and the new building will have many water and energy saving features. Much of the old building will be salvaged. The new facility will provide an up-to-date laboratory, increased seismic stability, lots of natural lighting, improved employee work spaces and conference rooms for wastewater education and public events. Project Manager Jacquelynn Roswell worked with a dedicated team in designing the building to make sure it works for staff. Eddie Tate is the King County Construction Manager for the project.
