Purpose

The purpose of the Planning Work Group was to serve as a policy-focused subcommittee to the Steering Committee. It focused on defining options for the Salmon Habitat Plan based on technical findings. Members also reviewed and and refined Habitat Plan drafts and work products during 2004 and 2005. Additional information about roles and responsibilities can be downloaded (Microsoft Word file).

Following the completion of the Habitat Plan in 2005, the Planning Work Group has not been active.

Accomplishments

The Planning Work Group played a key role in developing the draft Near-Term Action Agenda and in revising it based on comments from the Steering Committee and the public. The Planning Work Group assisted in the review and revision of the draft Salmon Habitat Plan.

Membership

The Planning Work Group included staff from local jurisdictions, environmental and business representatives, scientists, and state agency staff.

Planning Work Group Replaced by Implementation Technical Committee

With the completion of the Salmon Habitat Plan, the task of the Planning Work Group was complete. Some tasks performed by the Planning Work Group are now performed by the Implementation Technical Committee, which was created in 2006.
