WRIA 9 Correspondence with Puget Sound Shared Strategy
Efforts to plan for salmon habitat in the Green/Duwamish and Central Puget Sound Watershed (WRIA 9) are complementing similar efforts in other watersheds in Puget Sound. Efforts are also underway to improve hatchery and harvest practices to support recovery of Puget Sound Chinook salmon. Key in coordinating all these efforts is the Puget Sound Shared Strategy. At the end of June 2004, the WRIA 9 Forum and Steering Committee through their staff provided a response to a series of six questions posed by Shared Strategy to people in each of the Puget Sound Watersheds. These responses describe watershed actions that contribute toward recovery:
