News Release The City of Carnation and King County's Wastewater Treatment Division have scheduled a community open house for Monday, June 30, on the proposed Carnation wastewater treatment plant. The meeting will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m., with a presentation at 7 p.m., at Carnation Elementary School, 4950 Tolt Ave. The city has decided that replacing individual septic tanks with a treatment plant is an important step toward the long-term viability of Carnation. Carnation has contracted with King County to design, build and operate the plant. The county and city are now working to identify potential sites for the plant. People attending the open house can learn more about the treatment and discharge options, plant siting process and criteria, and opportunities for public involvement. Operation of the plant will protect public health and water quality. For more information, call (206) 263-5212 (voice) or 1-(800) 325-6165, ext. 35212; send an e-mail message to carnationwwtp@metroc.gov; or visit the Carnation Treatment Facility website at the Wastewater Treatment page.
