King County's Construction Recycling and Green Building Program works to ensure that job-site material is recycled to the greatest extent possible and to accelerate the adoption of green building practices, technologies, policies and standards in residential and commercial development.
 
Built Green
A local rating system for home buyers to identify new homes and remodels built with environmentally-friendly techniques has also been created. The checklist of energy and health risk practices is a program of the Master Builders Association in partnership with King County, Snohomish County, and Fannie Mae.
 
US Green Building Council (external link)
The U.S. Green Building Council is the nation's foremost coalition of building industry leaders who use green building practices.. USGBC works to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work.
 
LEED (external link)
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) is a leading assessment system designed for rating new and existing commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential buildings.
