Green Building Team
Forming the Green Building Team
The success of King Street Center encouraged the Department of Natural Resources and Parks and the Department of Construction and Facility Management staff to create a broader County-wide group and formalize what is now known as the Green Building Team.

The Green Building Team has:
  • Brought together capital project managers who were either interested in 'greening' their practices, or who were already implementing green building practices;
  • Facilitated information-sharing among project staff and created stronger interest and commitment to green building;
  • Generated ideas from project managers about how to make green building standard practice on county projects;
  • Introduced the LEEDTM (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Rating System as a possible green building standard King County might adopt.
