Flood Warning Center Update

The King County Flood Warning Center and the Roads Services Division continue monitoring flooding conditions in the Snoqualmie Valley as the weather improves and colder air moves into the region. The Snoqualmie River is in Phase III flooding at Carnation and crested at 58.6 feet at 10 a.m. Flows at Carnation have fluctuated very little since then. The Flood Warning Center will continue operation until 5 p.m. today and possibly later, depending on river conditions.

The White and Green Rivers continue to experience Phase II flooding as water is gradually released from upstream dams and reservoirs. Flows on the Green River are expected to hold steady and not increase. Water levels are still rising on the White River at Buckley, but not expected to reach Phase III.

Flood patrol members are out checking levees and flood protection systems and report no damage from the flooding that began yesterday after heavy rain and warm temperatures caused snow to melt in the mountains.

Roads crews continue to respond to calls of water over roadways in the Snoqualmie Valley. Currently 15 roads are closed. (See King County Road Alert for list)

Motorists are cautioned when traveling in rural areas not to drive around barricades into floodwaters.
