Repairs completed at King County's Lake City Regulator

King County has replaced sewer odor control equipment that burned in a fire in a University District wastewater facility March 26. The unit helps control odors from untreated wastewater, which flows through a series of pipes from the north end of Lake Washington to the sewage treatment plant at West Point, next to Discovery Park in Seattle. The Lake City Regulator, located at NE 40th Street and 7th Avenue NE, regulates the flows of wastewater moving through the system.

Repairs included replacing the motor, blowers, and surrounding ducting units on the scrubbers and electrical equipment. County employees informed neighbors living near the facility about the damage and subsequent repair work. Since the recent repairs were completed on Friday, April 14, there have been no unusual odors reported.
