Media Advisory King County's regional water quality monitoring program enters a new era this week with the launch of solar powered, robotic, underwater monitoring devices being anchored in Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish. Water quality measurements will be collected 24-hour a day, seven days a week from stations that will transmit the data via wireless signals to computers at King County's Department of Natural Resources. Reporters and photographers are invited to join scientists on a boat for the launch of the first buoy in Lake Washington: 10 a.m., Wed., July 19 meet at the UW Waterfront Activity Center, Courtesy Dock (behind Husky Stadium)
