August 24, 2000 News Release Maintenance done at West Point Sewage Treatment Plant King County will perform sewage treatment plant maintenance on Monday, August 28, 2000 and Friday, September 1, 2000 which may result in some odors near the south end of the plant. Piping will be replaced which may require the venting of gas from the top of the digester tanks through pressure relief valves. Normal wastewater operations will not be interrupted. Once the maintenance is completed, regular operations will resume. In partnership with Discovery Park, the county will temporarily close the North Beach trail as a precaution.
