News Release
Record-breaking crowds attended the Puget Sound Festival at King Countys Marymoor Park the weekend of August 17-18. Sponsored by the Luis Palau Evangelistic Association, the Christian festival attracted 150,000 people over two days. Attendance estimates ranged from 70,000 to 80,000 people per day. This was a record crowd for both Marymoor Park and for all Luis Palau sponsored events in the United States. In past years, the Heritage Festival held at Marymoor Park has drawn large crowds reaching as many as 100,000 over three days. "Everything went very well despite the record crowds," said Bob Burns, King County Parks Manager. "There were very few problems reported." More crowds are expected from August 20-25 as Marymoor Park will be the parking venue for the NEC Invitational golf tournament at Salahee Golf Course. Parking lots will be in use from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Traffic flow through the park will be one-way only. The schedule is as follows:
