Media Advisory Saturday is this year's last opportunity to view the salmon while learning more about this wonder of the Pacific Northwest. Saturday, November 9 is the final day of the Cedar River Salmon Journey program. If you miss this chance, you will have to wait until next year to watch and learn about salmon splashing their way up the Cedar River. Trained volunteers will be stationed at four different salmon-viewing locations on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., to answer visitiors questions. The volunteers will explain more about the natural and human history of the river, the life cycle and habitat needs of the fish, and what everyone can do to ensure the return of the salmon for generations to come. The four locations include the Renton Library, Riverview Park, Cavanaugh Pond and Landsburg Park. Due to limited parking at each site, carpooling is strongly advised. The Cedar River Naturalist program is sponsored by the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks, The Seattle Aquarium, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle Public Utilities, and the City of Renton.
