News Release
The King County Fair took home a Best of Show rosette for the T-shirt competition. The 2002 shirt, centered around the theme "Come Home to the King County Fair," featured traditional fair animals in a rural setting. Two of the five submitted pictures, taken by photographer Kristina Kolerich at the King County Fair, won first place rosettes. The "Best Jar at the Fair" picture, showing four girls dressed as pickles and shrink-wrapped to resemble being in a jar, won in the Contests and Games category. "In the Swing of Things," a picture of the Swing Ride, won in the Carnival category. The 2003 King County Fair is scheduled for July 16 to 20. As one of the last honest-to-goodness country fairs, the King County Fair features national headliners, animals, a rodeo, fun food, commercial vendors, carnival rides & games, and all kinds of 4-H, FFA, and Grange displays, surrounded by farms in a picturesque setting in the shadow of Mount Rainier.
