November 26, 2003 News Release Renton Transfer Station Reopens The Renton Transfer Station reopened to all customers on Monday, November 24, 2003 enhanced with a new roof and scale house to improve safety and efficiency for all transfer station customers. The construction project to replace the 30-year old roof and install a new scale house took 11 weeks and was completed on schedule. The roof replacement and new scale house will allow the facility to accommodate larger, modern solid waste collection vehicles. All King County transfer stations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
