US Bank Concerts at Marymoor: Picnic in the Park Concert Series appeals to cost-conscious, high quality music lovers

A potent and talented 2005 artist lineup and lower ticket prices figure to be music to the ears of concertgoers attending 'The Picnic in the Park' Concert Series at King County's Marymoor Park this summer.

The US Bank Concerts at Marymoor lineup, featuring such diverse artists as The Wallflowers, Delbert McClinton, Spyro Gyra, the Gin Blossoms and Joan Osborne, was unveiled Monday by promoter Dave Littrell of the Lakeside Group.

"We are thrilled once again to provide a venue at one of our most beautiful regional parks," said King County Parks Director Suzanne Little. "This concert series is a huge success and exactly what King County Parks is trying to accomplish with our dynamic business plan - revenue-producing amenities that complement our parks."

In its first two seasons, the amphitheater at historic Marymoor Park in Redmond established itself as a first class concert venue, attracting such internationally renowned performing artists as Norah Jones, Willie Nelson, Crosby Stills & Nash, Jackson Browne, Tori Amos, Harry Connick Jr., The Steve Miller Band and many others. For the 2005 season, the line up of renowned performers continues, only with a much welcomed new twist - The Picnic in the Park Concert Series will offer ALL general admission tickets for only $20, and kids 12 and under accompanied by an adult are free.

"The public has been increasingly asking for lower ticket prices to our events for several years now. We wanted to offer those people a quality concert experience at an affordable, family-friendly price" said Littrell, producer of the concert series, and a founder of the Woodland Park Zoo's series. "There is an enormous number of families with children living throughout the Puget Sound region, particularly on the Eastside, whose kids don't get any exposure to live music. Nobody was servicing this market with affordable, quality, live entertainment. This year, along with our partners at U.S. Bank and King County Parks, we're going to change that."

"U.S. Bank is proud and excited to partner with the 'Concerts at Marymoor' for a second year" said Ken Kirkpatrick, President of U.S. Bank in Washington. "We are particularly pleased that the 'Picnic in the Park' concert series will make the concert experience possible for the many families here in our community."

"The Picnic in the Park series is another chapter in our mission to make concerts in the park accessible and enjoyable for everyone" Littrell said.
