Support King County Parks this holiday season by using custom postage from Zazzle
Supporting your favorite King County Park, trail or other public amenity this holiday season is as easy as mailing a greeting card.
For the second consecutive year, King County Parks has teamed with Zazzle, an online marketplace for buying and selling custom-printed goods, to offer for sale customized postage depicting the King County Parks system' s unique settings and popular attractions.
The custom postage depicts the wide range of activities that can be pursued at King County parks, including walking and jogging, whitewater rafting, hiking and mountain biking. This year, Parks supporters can also upload their own photos to create custom holiday greeting cards through Zazzle's Web site, which can be accessed by clicking the "Support Parks!" icon at the King County Parks Web site, www.metrokc.gov/parks/.
Zazzle, through its "Community Giving Program," will return up to 27 percent of net sales of custom postage to King County Parks. Net sales on postage products are the cost of the stamp minus the face value of the postage. The funds will help pay parks maintenance and operation expenses.
"This innovative partnership helps us shine a spotlight on some of King County Parks' best features, and it provides us with a great new potential revenue source," said Kevin Brown, King County Parks Director.
King County Parks will generate roughly $4.5 million in business revenues this year, with approximately $2 million of that amount coming from partnerships, enterprise initiatives and donations.
"Custom products like the Support Parks! ZazzleStamps have been a great way for community groups and teams to express their support of parks," said Robert Beaver, CEO and co-founder of Zazzle.com. "Zazzle is proud to partner with King County Parks."
