Dec. 29, 2006 Volunteers needed to clear storm debris at King County's Marymoor Park
The lights may be back on and the roads cleared, but the impact of
December's windstorm can still be seen throughout the grounds of King
County's beautiful Marymoor Park in Redmond.
King
County Parks is in dire need of volunteers to help clear away fallen
tree debris within the regional park. Two work parties have been
scheduled:
- Saturday, Jan. 6, from 9 a.m. to noon; and
- Saturday, Jan. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon
Work will include picking up limbs and branches and stacking them in
piles, or loading them onto trucks, plus raking leaves and clearing
walkways. Volunteers are asked to dress for the weather and bring work
gloves.
Individual volunteers and groups are welcome. Separate work parties for large groups can be accommodated.
