US Bank Concerts at Marymoor - Pictures and Reviews of the Venue

"Marymoor Park Amphitheatre in Redmond, entering its third year, has shifted this season to a more family-friendly format. It recently unveiled its "Picnic in the Park" series of low-cost concerts, with lawn seating at $20, and free to kids. Acts include the Wallflowers, the Gin Blossoms, Spyro Gyra and Joan Osborne. It helps that there's a playground adjacent to the concert site. Marymoor also promises higher-quality food booths."

"The new 5,000-capacity venue -- located near the old Clise mansion, originally built as a hunting lodge in the early 1900s -- looked terrific on its first day of operation. Concertgoers sprawled on new gently contoured, grass-covered berms that afforded good views of the new stage, located in the same spot as the main stage at previous WOMAD festivals of summers past. ... Parking was a cinch."

"The new concert site created by King County in Marymoor Park proved to be an inviting, surprisingly intimate venue. A thick, green lawn rises gently from the stage and up the sides of a berm, which forms a semicircle around the back of the site. ... Those gradations give everyone clear sight lines to the big, state-of-the-art stage, and a sense of closeness to the performers. The 600 reserved seats down front are roomy and comfortable, and don't block the view of the 4,400-capacity general-admission area."

"Music lovers from across the state pronounced the new amphitheater beautiful, the weather perfect and the police friendly, and called the concerts absolutely appropriate for Marymoor Park. ... ``It's like Safeco -- there's not a bad seat in the house,'' said Daphine Benton of Redmond."

"The area, covered in new green grass, includes a gently sloping berm, created so everyone standing or sitting in the grass can have a good view of the stage. There's a large area for food booths, with shade trees. Parking is close by the concert entrance, and free to ticketholders."

"Prepare yourself for some great music and a lot of laughs at Marymoor Park this summer. But don't prepare yourself for a lot of bad traffic and scarce parking, because neither should prove a problem..."
