Washington 4-H
A not-for-profit organization which uses private and public resources to fulfill its mission of "building partnerships for community youth development that value and involve youth in solving issues critical to their lives, their families and society."

Council partners with 4-H and other youth programs and organizations to focus on diverse groups of young people in rural, urban and suburban communities. National 4-H Council helps provide "hands-on" co-educational programs and activities to young people nationwide in collaboration with the youth development education initiatives of the Cooperative Extension System.

Cooperative Extension provides copious amounts of information to farmers and consumers. King County Cooperative Extension offers a program called DialExtension. This is an audio tape library that is telephone accessible 24 hours a day at 206-296-3425. At the prompt enter 97 to listen to locations where you can u-pick crops for that particular season. If this is long distance, 206-325-6125 and ask for extension 6-3425.

Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland is a grass-roots, non-profit organization formed in 1989 and dedicated to protecting Skagit County's rich agricultural heritage through public and landowner education. Skagitonians is also an IRS-approved land Trust that accepts donations of agricultural easements and gifts of land, and may purchase easements or land with donated funds. Skagitonians meets with and counsels farmland owners on these and other mechanisms to keep agricultural land for agricultural production.
