This project stabilized 500 feet of rapidly eroding riverbank and increased fish and wildlife habitat. The project also included the removal of a portion of the Hamakami Levee. Over 60 large Cedar logs with rootwads intact were placed along the river's edge. Above the logs 2-4 rows of willows were planted among coir and soil wraps to reconstruct a vegetated riverbank. |
