Agriculture Commission Activities Calendar

In addition to the Commission’s monthly meetings, there are three sub-committees that meet regularly throughout the year.

The Land Use and Regulatory Committee reviews King County rules, policies and codes that impact farming and agricultural operations in King County.  When specific issues arise, such as providing additional housing for farm workers, the Committee works with County staff and others to develop policy and action recommendations that will help support and strengthen farming.

The Ag Programs Committee focuses on activities that impact farming and agriculture in the region. The Committee advises on such programs as Puget Sound Fresh and recommends ways to increase the visibility and support of farming to the larger region.

The Sno-Valley Ag Preservation Committee is the newest committee formed to work with farmers and rural residents trying to cope with the impacts of severe flooding on agriculture in the Snoqualmie Valley. The Committee is identifying actions to help secure farming in this region into the future. For more information, contact Steve Evans at 206-296-7824.
