Synopsis: Doug introduces viewers to Seattle Tilth, a local organization dedicated to educating people about organic gardening and natural resource conservation. Joining Doug is Lisa Taylor, educator with the Tilth Children's Garden.

The show's topic is dirt! Lisa demonstrates how to do a sediment test using a jar and water. Next step is the "squish" test to make cigar shaped ribbons of soil. The test helps to determine the difference between sandy, clay and loamy soils.

Greg also demonstrates, in this episode, how to correctly plant woody material and which mulching techniques to use.
