Salmon Challenge! |
What is Salmon Challenge?
Salmon Challenge is a game to help you see how your decisions help or harm our environment and our salmon.
This game was developed for grades 4 through 9, but it is fun for everyone - friends, classmates, even your parents!
Salmon Challenge may require the download of the Shockwave plug-in to
view the animations. If you have difficulty playing the Salmon Challenge,
please e-mail Donna Kalka at donna.kalka@metrokc.gov
and describe the problem. (New version, August 2003)
Why?
Chinook Salmon will be listed by the federal government as an endangered species, so we all have to work together to help salmon and keep their environment clean and healthy.
How to Play
You will be given ten questions, just choose the best answer by clicking
on it with your mouse. Good choices will help your salmon grow big and
strong and migrate to Puget Sound, bad choices will harm or kill your
salmon.
You may get a Water Quality Alert with no good solution. We hope you will
discuss why you made your decision with others if you got a response you
didn't expect.
Click on CHECKUP to see your salmon's current size, health and location.
Click on TRY to give your salmon a jumpstart if you discover it is sick.
Clicking on the arrow will take you to the next question.
Play The Salmon Challenge NOW!!

(and do come back to the Natural Resources Kids Page!)
Good luck and have fun!
