Volunteer Lake Monitoring Manual

Volunteer lake monitors are an invaluable asset to the Lake Stewardship Program -- their efforts result in vast amounts of data at King County lakes that wouldn't be collected otherwise. To ensure volunteer-collected data meets standards for quality assurance and quality control, it is important for all volunteers to follow the same monitoring protocols.

The files below describe the program and the monitoring procedures in detail. If you are a volunteer monitor, please review this manual carefully before you begin monitoring and refer back to the manual as often as necessary. If you have any questions or need replacement equipment, please contact any of the Lake Stewardship Program staff listed below.
