Vashon-Maury Island Groundwater Protection Committee

The Vashon Maury Island Groundwater Protection Committee (VMI GWPC) serves the Vashon-Maury Island community (see a map of the VMI GWMA ). The Committee began its work in late 2001 and has continued to meet since that time. In 2004 the Committee recommended that the County Council extend the term of the Committee beyond the December 2004 sunset date. The Council approved this extension (ordinance 15082) at the end of 2004.

The Vashon-Maury Island Groundwater Protection Committee is working to protect groundwater in part by implementing the Vashon-Maury Island Watershed Plan as summarized in the Watershed Plan Implementation Matrix.

The Committee has four regularly scheduled meetings in 2008:

  • Wednesday January 23, 2008
  • Wednesday April 23, 2008
  • Wednesday July 23, 2008
  • Wednesday October 22, 2008

The group meets from 6:30 to 9:15 at the Vashon Fire Station Facilities at 10020 S.W. Bank Road in the Vashon Town Center area.
