It's Salmon SEEson!

Fall is here, and salmon are returning to streams and rivers around the Puget Sound. See these natural beauties and be inspired by their seasonal journey home at spots around the Greater Lake Washington Watershed!

Salmon SEEson in Redmond

spawning sockeye salmon Come see wild adult salmon migrate up the Sammamish to their spawning grounds in Bear Creek. The City of Redmond is sponsoring Salmon Spotting Stations along the Sammamish River Trail south of the 85th Street Bridge (just south of the new salmon-friendly water conservation garden).

Interpretive naturalists from Nature Vision will lend you a pair of polarized glasses to help you spot adult coho, sockeye and Chinook salmon migrating -- and tell you how to help these amazing wild species survive.

Driving Directions:
From SR 520 take the West Lake Sammamish Exit and turn left towards downtown Redmond (away from Marymoor.) West Lake Sammamish turns into 154th Ave NE. Turn right at NE 85th street and over the Sammamish River.

Parking is available in front of City Hall: 15670 NE 85th Street.
After Parking, walk towards the Sammamish River (west) and onto Sammamish River Trail.
Once on the trail, head south underneath 85th, past the Salmon Friendly Conservation Garden.
Continue South on trail, towards Redmond Way.
You should see the Salmon Watching Station at a newly created view point on the river's side of the trail.
