The Kelsey Creek Subarea contains more than 19 miles of streams including Mercer Slough, Sturtevant Creek, Kelsey Creek, Valley Creek, West Tributary, Goff Creek, Richards Creek, East Creek and Sunset Creek. Chinook, coho and sockeye salmon are known to occur in various creeks throughout the subarea. Fish passage barriers, increased sedimentation and poor water quality are some of the factors contributing to salmon habitat decline in this subarea.
