Purpose

The purpose of the Public Outreach Work Group is to support the work of the Steering Committee by promoting public involvement and education. It has done this in two ways:

  • Developing and implementing the public involvement plan to support development of the 2005 Salmon Habitat Plan
  • Overseeing public education and outreach opportunities including participation at festivals, development of outreach materials, development of these web pages, and special projects intended to promote personal behavior change and stewardship of the watershed.

The goal of public invovement is that:

People learn about and help solve water quality and salmon habitat problems in their watershed.

Accomplishments

The Public Outreach Work Group developed public involvement plans that guided public outreach and input for the Near-Term Action Agenda and the watershed Habitat Plan. The public input received was and is being used. Learn more about:

Membership

The Public Outreach Work Group includes representatives from local governments and environmental/community groups. Membership is open to anyone who wants to contribute to the work of the Public Outreach Work Group.

Meetings

Meetings of the Public Outreach Work Group are open to the public. The group meets as needed.
