Picture of Kanaskat North (Brunner Slough) Side Channel habitat acquisition on the Green River

Importance for Salmon

  • This area is used for spawning and rearing by threatened chinook salmon
  • The site is adjacent to large tracts of public land and will contribute to a key protected corridor
  • A future phase could include restoration of the side channel connection to create more salmon habitat off the main channel of the Green River (as recommended in Salmon Habitat Plan project MG-2, page 7-34)
