Importance for Salmon

  • This area is used for spawning and rearing by threatened chinook salmon
  • Two perennial streams and one seasonal tributary on the parcels proposed for purchase are sources of insects, nutrients, cold water and oxygen to the Green River
  • There is extensive riparian cover along the Green River in this reach
  • Adjacent to large tracts of publicly-owned open space
  • Supports future projects carried out through the Green/Duwamish Ecosystem Restoration Project
