Fairwood Interceptor Sewer Project -- completed Spring 2007Home | What Should You Expect During Construction? | Project Map
Fairwood Interceptor Sewer now completeThe King County Wastewater Treatment Division has been working in the Fairwood neighborhood for several years to improve the community's sewer system and protect public health and the environment. To complete the final phase of work, King County has built new pipes to connect portions of pipe laid earlier in the project. A new all-gravity pipeline called the Fairwood Interceptor (located outside the Madsen Creek ravine) now directs wastewater to the existing Cedar River Water and Sewer District pipelines (see map). In accordance with community preference, the new, deep gravity interceptor avoids the need to build a sewage pump station in Fairwood. Work Completed: This project was constructed in phases to reduce disruption to the community.
