The new underground storage pipe will temporarily store up to 500,000 gallons of wastewater during large storms and help reduce overflows to Puget Sound. The channel in the bottom of the pipe will convey normal flows.

The new Hidden Lake Pump Station is being constructed next to the existing pump station, which is more than 40 years old.

(About 5,000 feet of sewer line from Richmond Beach Pump Station south to Innis Arden.)

In addition to the replacement of sewer line, about 5,000 feet of water mains for the Seattle Public Utility will also be replaced.
