Pipe construction on the new Boeing Creek Trunk Sewer, extending from the Richmond Beach Pump Station into Innis Arden, is complete as of March 2008. Work in Innis Arden was especially challenging due to multiple underground utilities and a stretch that required installation of five separate pipes (see below). Some sections of the work were quite deep, requiring extensive support systems and excavation. Crews performed sequential excavations in some areas of Springdale, 14th, and 15th Avenues Northwest that required multiple pipes in order to disturb only one lane at a time. Progress in Innis ArdenSince January, crews have installed five pipes in the Innis Arden area from the 18500 block of Springdale Court south to the 17700 block of 14 th Avenue Northwest:
What's left to complete on the trunk sewer?Work to replace water and local sewer lines remains. Crews will continue working to prepare the system for operations. Final restoration, including a full width pavement overlay in the travel lanes, is currently scheduled to begin in spring and will be completed by the end of summer 2008.
